Weekly Car Maintenance Tips
Car maintenance is of utmost importance. No matter what you drive, be it a light truck, an SUV, or a 16 wheeler, there are certain maintenance culture that you have to imbibe, if you want your vehicle to last as long as it possibly can. Not just that, but regular maintenance will help you catch any problems before it has the time to fester and cost you more money or disappoint you as you head to a very important meeting.
So in today’s article, I’ll be sharing with you some car maintenance tips which you can start immediately, even if you’ve not formerly formed the habit.
Check Your Fluid Levels
Perhaps one of your most important fluids is your engine oil; it lubricates the running of most parts of your engine. In its absence these mechanical parts will grind against each other badly and come to a halt, then you’d have to spend a lot of money on repairs. If you hear a vehicle has “knocked” engine, this is likely one of the reasons. So check your oil levels at least once a week. Make sure it is not running low, if it is, then you should top off.
Now here’s how to check for your oil depth, open the compartment where the oil stays, on the cover you’d see some kind of stick attached to it, perhaps metal or plastic. Take it out clean it and then dip it back into where the oil is, bring it out again, where ever you see the sign of the oil, it the oil level. If it has gone low, top it. If your oil seems to be draining faster than expected, then their might be an oil leak, you might have to visit the car technician to have your car looked at.
Check Your Windscreen Wipers
Your windscreen wipers are very important. You’d actually never know, until you have to drive on a wet day. So make sure your wipers are working perfectly and not creating smudges on your windscreen. If they are bad, change them immediately. Check for windscreen washer fluid too, ensure that it is sufficient. While you’re at it, check you windscreen for maybe little cracks and/or faults,
Check Your Tyres
Here’s another part that we constantly overlook. Tyres are not fragile, true, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take care of them. So in the cool of the morning check your tyre pressure, there are home test kits for this. Ensure that it is not underinflated or overinflated. And underinflated tyre would cause your car to use more energy, thereby increasing your fuel consumption. Over inflation will lead to sudden blowouts which are even more dangerous. Check that there are no cracks, bulges and the likes on your tyre walls.
If the tread is running low, then get ready the change the tyres. When it comes to time to change tyres, one might be confused as to the number of available options. One brand we have come to trust and which we also recommend is Cooper tyres. They are available from tyre dealers dubai, they are durable and give good returns for money.
